Subscriptions

There are three different service packages for vehicles:

Basic

The vehicle has services which do not include the remote download of tachograph data. Files are transferred manually from the tachograph.

For vehicles with this service package your dealer will be pleased to help you transfer data from the tachograph. The data transferred is then saved on Scania Tachograph Portal.

Remote download

The vehicle has services which include the remote download of tachograph data.

Remote Download Plus

The vehicle has services which include the remote download of tachograph data. With vehicles with this subscription, it is also possible to set download intervals for drivers and vehicles.

With vehicles with this subscription, you can also initiate manual remote downloads. This is not necessary under regular circumstances, as remote downloads occur at regular intervals. However, in exceptional circumstances, you may need to do this to ensure that you have the latest tachograph data from the vehicle.

Tachograph data transfer

Depending on which service package the vehicle has, the way in which the transfer takes place will differ.

Manually via the portal

If you have the Basic service package, tachograph files are downloaded manually via Scania Tachograph Portal or Scania Tachograph Portal Workshop. Your dealer will be pleased to help you transfer data from the tachograph.

Automatically every month

If you have the Remote download package, tachograph files are automatically downloaded every month. The date on which transfer takes place is based on the subscription start date. If, for example, the start date was 5 May, the transfer will take place on the 5th of each month. The first transfer from the vehicle will therefore take place on 5 June. If, however, the start date was the 31st May, the transfer will take place on the 31st in months that have 31 days. In months that do not have 31 days, the download will take place on the 1st of the following month instead. For example, the June transfer will take place on 1st July instead.

Automatically at the intervals set for the vehicle

If you have the Remote Download Plus service package, you can set how often tachograph downloads should take place for each vehicle on the Settings > Vehicle > Download intervals page. The download will take place automatically at the set interval.

Driver card data transfer

Depending on which service package a vehicle has and the equipment it is fitted with, the way in which the transfer of driver card data takes place will differ. The driver card is not linked to a specific vehicle. The way in which the transfer from the card takes place therefore differs depending on which service package the vehicle in which the card is inserted has.

Manually via the portal

If you have the Basic service package, driver card files are downloaded manually via Scania Tachograph Portal or Scania Tachograph Portal Workshop.

Manually via the switch in the vehicle

If you have the Remote download service package but the vehicle’s communication unit does not have support for automatic remote download, driver card files will be downloaded by the driver pressing the switch in the vehicle.

Automatically at x day intervals

If you have the Remote download service package and the vehicle has a communication unit with support for automatic remote download, driver card files will be automatically downloaded at a predefined interval of a number of days. The interval starts from when the previous download took place. When a new driver inserts his or her card in the tachograph for the first time, data is downloaded directly from the card. Whenever the driver inserts the card in the tachograph, a check is performed on whether it is time to download data from the card. When it is time to download data from the card at the predefined interval, the download will take place automatically.

Automatically at the intervals set for the driver

If you have the Remote Download Plus service package, you can set how often driver card downloads should take place on the Settings > Drivers > Download intervals page. The download will take place automatically at the set interval.
